1st Idea - 1st Day to Organization

Day 1 is here!!!
The 1st idea is to Write a bona fide letter to someone who won’t expect it.
"Think of a person who really matters to you and recount one of your most hilarious moments together, thank her for guiding you through a difficult time, or just tell her that you want to get together more often."

I have had this card for some time and knew eventually I would get a chance to send it. Well, this is the perfect card for my girlfriend and I. We have been friends for almost 20 years now!!
We have worked together, been roommates, but most of all been there for each other.

Don't we all want to take a sip from that magic potion from time to time when it comes to men!
Enjoy your day & Happy Organizing & Inspiring!!

29 Ideas to Organization Challenge

At the beginning of the year I received this article, a really neat one about 31 ideas to 31 days of organization.
So I have a friend I JUST knew it would be RIGHT up her alley. Boy, was I right...huh Vera!! :) And well to be honest, I need some organization help myself. :) I sent it to her and now we have a challenge starting!! Woo HOO!!

It will begin on February 1st and I will be doing my utmost to make sure I post daily the challenge! That in of itself will be a challenge on its own! LOL! So then I am getting 2 for the price of 1! LOL!!

If you, like most of us, could use some tips check my blog out and see what may work for you. Plus, see how I am coming along in this challenge! Plus, if you are doing it I decided to pick up one of the ideas, I would love to see what you did! Post a comment or send me an e-mail!
See you all on February 1st!!

Just some random thoughts...

Today was a good day. Actually, considering everything this week so far has not been bad at all.
Some events happened today that really made me think, in the kind of way where you turn your head cock-eyed in one direction and go "hmmmm...."
Needless to say, as I type this post I am doing it right now. LOL!!

People really can make you go "hmmm..." No one is perfect by any means but it is funny who you can rely upon and who well...may not be so reliable. It can be anything from morale support, just a message, the way they respond to something, don't respond, or it can be when you are going through something really tough or even worse when you may have accomplished something -- you may just be surprised at what people say or DO NOT say.

We all have been guilty of focusing on the negative or saying something negative but I would hope that most of are old enough to have moved past it. But I really wonder if those around us or okay me do they really want me to be happy? do they want me to succeed? do they wish me the best? are they in my corner?
Or is it easier for them to focus on the negative b/c they have their own issues to deal with? Maybe they are too self-absorbed to even realize they are doing this --- nah, chances are they know it but they have to save face & keep up with the charade instead of acknowledging it.

I try to be positive, try not to speak ill of anyone, pay a compliment but sometimes I feel them pulling me into their behavior...so I can become one of them. It is a challenge to separate & keep your own senses at times. Especially when you hear the stuff that comes out of their mouths! Geez! makes you wonder.

Well...like I said just some random thoughts. Take them for what they are or ignore it or maybe take a look and ask yourself how do I treat the people I come across on a daily basis? Strangers, family, friends, co-workers, sales clerks, etc... all included.

DESERVING '08

I have found my word for 2008...Deserving.
Tonight, I tried to find my word. I wanted to find a word that started with "D" and this one could not have been better. I have been thinking a lot lately & when I saw this word it all came clear.

This is the year that I claim that as my own. It is very fitting for a lot that is going on right now in my life.
Deserving: worthy of being treated in a particular way because of one's actions or qualities; worthiness

Then I had another ah-ha moment on my way home from a crop...I was doing more thinking, of course, & there it was in the sky the brightest, longest streaming shooting star I have EVER seen! It was a sign to me that I HAVE to CLAIM it ALL this year, because I DESERVE it, in order for it to be the Best Year of My Life.

So here it goes....Let's see what happens!

WOW! Crazy Stuff...

I saw the previews for this new show on VH1 - "Celebrity Rehab w/Dr. Drew". Those of us from the old MTV days will remember him as the therapist/voice of reason on the Sex Talk show he had w/some guy named Adam.
Well....this afternoon I caught a replay of the 2nd episode. OH MY GOODNESS!! It was ... I am sitting here with my head shaking b/c I cannot find the right word(s) to describe this show. One thought that does come to mind is that it is shocking the lengths people will go to remain in denial. And what they are willing to put their bodies through time & time again to relieve that pain they are feeling.
There are some stars on it I have not heard of but then others we will all recognize. The one that really stands out, or at least these 1st few episodes, is Jeff Conway. Star of Taxi & Grease. But taking the "star" factor out of the picture & realizing that they are human beings just like you & me -- to see at what point they are in their life & how their addiction has taken its toll on their mind, body & spirit is what really gets me.
I was thinking this is the kind of stuff that our youth needs to see to scare them straight (remember that video we all saw or heard about to keep us away from drugs??!!) Well, this would do it for me if I was a kid! NO WAY am I touching that stuff!
So...when you are channel surfing, b/c there is nothing on cable, if you come across this show check it out. Its not pretty, its not nice but is really raw & vulnerable with human emotion, pain, and it is like "WOW! Crazy stuff!".

Best Year of My Life

This is one of my FAVORITE pics I have taken!!
I LOVE the way the sun is coming through the trees & you can see its beams. Plus, I love the brightness of it glistening off the water.
It reminds me of how beautiful nature is and that it is always a new day...even when you cannot always get to see & feel the warmth of the sun...It IS still a New Day!!
A New Beginning!!
I am committed to living the Best Year of My Life!! My mantra is Make '08 GREAT!!
I have begun reading a book of the same title & of course, like many, its a lot of what we already know, but you must be in the right mind, place, & time to accept & open yourself to this philosophy. I truly BELIEVE I am there!
This will hold its own set of challenges, but it will also have its own rewards & blessings!
Let's all start living the Best Year of Our Lives!!!
Make '08 GREAT!!

New Year New Beginnings

HAPPY NEW YEAR Everyone!!
Hard to believe another year come n' gone!! But I am happy to put '07 behind me!
Ready for all the new beginnings I want to start in 2008!!
2007 was a tough but fruitful year.

I know that 2008 it hold its own challenges but I feel better equipped to manage them.
Goals....Resolutions...Commitments....We all make them as the new year starts but how do we fair when the end of the year comes around??!! Did you keep your resolutions?! Its not a trick question but more of a rhetorical one.

I have heard that if you post/write your goals down and put them somewhere where you can see them you are more likely to achieve them. Or at least have better success - thats all I want!
So....without further adieu here it goes:
(in no particular order & subject to my perogative to change @ any time!) LOL!

~ Continue to manage weight & lifestyle change
~ Go to church more often
~ Save $$ to buy laptop for school
~ Go to a crop at least 1 time each month
~ NO more new scrap stuff!! Only can purchase paper or adhesive until I put a significant dent in my hordes of scrapping supplies!!
~ Plan a budget and really attempt to stick with it

Well folks there they are in b/w!! Hopefully, I can keep my commitments!!!
(I did go to church last Sunday and already attend a crop this month!!)
Just don't ask if I bought any new scrap supplies!! LOL!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR again!! Make '08 GREAT!! (oh...my new mantra!!)
